Armando

Melancholy, impotence, desire and the uneasy combination of beauty and evil have remained important themes for Armando (b. 1929). Armando was an eye-witness and active participant in the major postwar developments in European art. This is the first publication to place him within a European artistic tradition, as well as covering the latest stages in his work. This richly illustrated survey of 60 years of work spans the full breadth of Armando's unique oeuvre: painting, drawing, sculpture and writing. Four authors illuminate the different aspects of his work: Niels Cornelissen, Anke Hervol, Antoon Melissen and Yvonne Ploum.
