Architectural Guide to The Hague

This is the first complete overview of the architecture and urban design in The Hague from 1250 to 2010. Divided into six areas, it charts more than 300 architectural projects as well as street furniture and the public realm. Its entries range from monuments such as the Kloosterkerk, the Gevangenpoort, Jacob van Campen's Mauritshuis and Daniël Marot's Huis Schuylenburch to such modern work as P.L. Kramer's Bijenkorf department store, Buijs and Lürsen's Volharding, Johannes Duiker's Nirwanaflat and Berlage's Gemeentemuseum. More recent buildings by Rem Koolhaas, Richard Meier, Aldo van Eyck, Herman Hertzberger, Benthem Crouwel and others are considered at length in their respective areas.
